Appointments
Wan Shi Tong is a very busy spirit owl, but he might be willing to spare you some time if it's important enough. However, he does request that you label it in a orderly fashion with the type of entry and the date for cataloging.
[Action: May 3rd]
Wan Shi? It's-it's me Helios. I-I've come to, ah, speak with you a-about somethings. [ Things that the other probably wouldn't like but they had to be discussed. ] If you'd like to-to talk that is.

I suppose you've come to tell me the error of my ways?
[There is a trace of bitterness in his voice.]
Humans never change. They are only concerned with themselves.

[ Helios will sigh as he looks away for a brief moment. ] I'm so sorry Wan Shi Tong. I-I should have known something like this would happen. I'm trying my hardest to get them to understand, but perhaps it was a little too much too late.

Even an all knowing spirit did not anticipate this outcome.
[It pains him to say it but it's true. His way of saying it's not Helios' fault.]

[ He'll take out the books too and put them in the small pile. ] I don't want you or anyone else to get hurt because of this. I-I do care about your well being and I'm trying to find a way towards a compromise. Would you...be willing to do something like that?
[ He's not sure the response he's going to get so he's braced himself for the worse of it. ]

[He remembers that Saori mentioned Helios was also fond of it.]
I am willing to give time for an agreement to be made. However I have no intention of bending to his will anymore than he does mine.
[Especially after the stunt Loki pulled.]
If an agreement is not reached in a suitable amount of time, I will resort to force.

Yes. You two are both indomitable in your ways. Good and bad traits I suppose when it comes down to it. But I don't like to see people I am fond of fighting, so perhaps an agreement can be made somehow. I think...the easiest solution would be for you two to go your separate ways. You leave him to his devices and he shall leave you to yours. It's not the best or the easiest of solutions but it-it might help. I know your anger with him is justified to some degree but his towards you is as well.
[ And Helios isn't saying that because he's defending Loki, not at all, it's just a fact of the situation at hand. ] I want to make this place as safe and equal for everyone here.

And how do you propose that we "go our own ways"? I have no intention of leaving the library. Knowledge is the reason for which I exist. And I am certain he has no intention of allowing me access to the books.

[ It might even allow Wan Shi to get more familiar with the people here and interacting with humans in general. ]

You would treat me as a little child who needs his own toys to get along with others? I do not believe you understand my position. I seek to protect -all- knowledge from those who would abuse it. And what of Loki? You put me in my corner while he gets exactly what he desires despite his mockery of me and insidious acts? I will not have it.

N-No, no! That's not what I meant at all. I simply meant that in addition to the library you could perhaps start your own library in a sense. It would be like having a piece of home here with you, you know? I know this is all a bit daunting to arrive in a place like this and have people react the way that they have. But I...I'm not sure if things will change if we continue this course. I don't want Loki to have the last say in this, because t-to be honest I'm...not very trusting of him in general. And I also don't want you to feel as if you're being cast aside. I don't think the people here are quite ready for-for what you're trying to do. Luceti in general is a very free place, everything is free, even food. And regulation is something we're not used to having. But perhaps if we could track the books that were taken out via magic or something like that.
[ He'll pause as he thinks on it. ] Ah. Perhaps we could use a regulatory card system. It would be affixed to a map of the town and the sigils drawn in the books could act like beacons. They could actually tell you where the books are after being taken out of the library and if the beacon disappears that would notify that the book has been destroyed or tampered with. [ He'll look at the owl with an inquiring look. ]
Would something like this ease your worry about having books taken out of the library? [ It's worth a shot, right? ]

[He sighs in a long suffering way, but gives Helios' suggestion a moment of consideration.]
Hm, perhaps...

[ His eyes light up just a little with some hope. He perks up just a little bit in his reply. ] Really? You'd consider something like that then? I'd suggest putting protective spells on the books so they couldn't be destroyed but I don't think people would take kindly to that idea either, even if I suggested it. But perhaps something like this could benefit us in a few ways. To be honest before you arrived I was thinking about implementing a system to keep track of books that were checked out and not checked out anyway. It's hard enough with the amount of traffic this place gets during the day.
[ And he had other places to be of course, like the cafe and school. ]
