[Jinora was gone. He'd searched for the last few days and it was pretty much certain she was gone and there was nothing he could do about it. He wasn't even in the comfort of the house they'd been living in any more. Without Jinora everything that was really familiar was just gone. And he hated it.

Kai had been avoiding most of the people he'd been living with because even though he knew Korra and Asami, they weren't close like Jinora had been. They weren't family. He felt just as apart from everyone now as he had when he first arrived. So he'd been wandering the - much smaller! - enclosure day in and day out just to occupy himself.

And that was when he came across Wan Shi Tong. That big, super scary spirit. The one Jinora really liked.

And he looked terrible.

Kai watched him for a while before sighing and shuffling over to him.]

Hi.

[Wan Shi Tong was certainly out of sorts. His feathers a bit disheveled from all the weather he'd endured through the days of being without a shelter. There was even a few twigs sticking out here and there. He hadn't bothered to preen himself all that much since it seemed like a rather futile effort.

However, the spirit owl was also missing the company of the young airbender girl. He had grown accustomed to her daily visits. But now, that was no more. While he wouldn't admit it, he actually missed her. It was rather lonely, and she the human had grown closest to.

When Kai walked up, Wan Shi Tong turned his head to look down at him. His words a bit dry as he spoke.]

Greetings.

[bisons]

Your feathers are messed up.

[He didn't know what else to say, or even why he'd come over. But if he was going to be there, he might as well start the conversation. And stating the obvious was as good a place to start as any.]

[knowitowl]

Indeed. How very astute of you.

[The words are sarcastic but half hearted. Wan Shi Tong doesn't feel as bitingly arrogant as he normally does.]

[bisons]

Want some help getting them back to normal? I can reach the ones you can't.

[Kai couldn't find it in him to rise to the bait. He was just too worn out.]

[There is pause as Wan Shi Tong ponders the boy's unexpected offer with some surprise. His thoughts going to conversations others have had with him as of late.]

You would do that? ... Very well.

[bisons]

[Kai shrugged.]

You can't do it yourself. And Jinora's gone, so she can't do it for you.

[He lifted a hand and waved the spirit toward him.]

You're going to have to bend over though. I can't get as much of a boost out of my airbending as I used to.

You know Jinora?

[Yes he actually refers to her by name instead of something like... little human girl. At the request though, Wan Shi Tong hesitates a moment but eventually bends forward, lowering his head. His wings also spreading to the sides, which Kai would use as ramps if he wanted to.]
