Wan Shi Tong is a very busy spirit owl, but he might be willing to spare you some time if it's important enough. However, he does request that you label it in a orderly fashion with the type of entry and the date for cataloging.

[The owl tilts his head.]

Oh? Do tell.

Wellll... It was caused by this guy named Loki. He's actually kind of like a spirit! Of mischief and stone. But he looks like a person, not a bird. But... that's beside the point!

The thing is, he said he could let you enter the library. But... he also wants you to not have strict rules over it, a-and to announce it. So you won't be able to stop people from taking books out or ban them...

[At this, Wan Shi Tong's eyes grow cold.]

You don't say.

And I suppose he was insulting my intelligence while making his demands?

Well... I don't know if I'd say he went that far, but he wasn't very nice about it. He's not very nice in general. [KINDA LIKE YOUR LITTLE FRIEND IN THAT ICON THERE, JUST SAYIN'.]

But he's been reasoned with, and that's the important part.

I have noticed. I am well aware of this, Loki.

[Thus it comes as no surprise to him that he is behind this.]

You call this reasoning? He has only done this to get his way. And will only allow me in if he continues to get his way. This is not a negotiation, this is bullying.

[He deflates at that. Not going so smooth after all. Loki was a bully, especially considering what Aang had seen him do on the video feed. But there was no way to defer him without risking more lives. This was the only solution they had at hand.]

I- I see. That could be a way of putting it. [He takes a breath, trying to go on wards.]

I don't agree with any of Loki's methods or the way he acts. But I do think that this way is the most peaceful way to resolve things. With all due respect... I- I don't think it's right to run this library the same way that your spirit library was.

Despite my former actions I do not remember what brought about my motives and have no intention of barring anyone from the library.

However, do you think it wise to merely let him go on? Allowing him to be little more than a tyrant whose whims go unchallenged for the sake of peace?

[He feels guilty about holding back the truth from Wan Shi Tong. But he knows that right now it will only cause more complications - more bloodshed.]

N-no! I don't want him to be a tyrant. I just think for now it's best to... to be cautious and keep an eye on him.

[Wan Shi Tong considers this for a moment.]

Very well, I will go along with it. Not because of Loki, but because I trust Raava and thus the Avatar.

[He blinks - he's not quite sure what a Raava is, but at least he's trusting him. So then he quickly goes into a bow.]

Thank you, Wan Shi Tong. I don't trust him very much myself... but as long as he keeps his words about letting you into the library, things should be fine for now. And with less rules, it should be easier to make lots of friends!

[He doesn't sound particularly enthusiastic. After he all, he had read all the rather hostile comments to his first announcement here. We shall see what happens.]

I will make my announcement once I have been given access to the library.

[While Wan Shi Tong may be cooperating but there is still a seed of distrust. He only has everyone's word and what happened on the journals to go on. It's still possible that Isaac is right and that they all did this to him to keep him under their control. That he had been betrayed by everyone in the village and handed over to the Malnosso, who took his memory. But for now he will go along with this.]

[He's hoping the people that were angry before will give him a second chance. It was the rules that were angering people, and maybe with people being nicer it could be helpful to Wan Shi Tong. That still left the problem of how to deal with the truth about what happened... but Aang still had several months to mull over that issue.]

Okay! That sounds great. I think! [He thinks Loki wanted the announcement first, but did it really matter what order it was in?] You can just... drop a note to Loki and that should do it!

No. You can drop a note to Loki. I have no intention of gratifying his ego any further. A spirit does not grovel.
