[Now that things seem to have gone back to relative normalcy here in the land of Luceti, Wan Shi Tong decides that it is time to introduce himself to the community. Thus there will be a video feed of a very tall owl as he stands over his journal.]

Greetings citizens of Luceti, I am Wan Shi Tong, he who knows ten thousand things.

Due to my abduction from my own world and library, I have commandeered the one within this village. I will be the sole authority of the collection from this point on, and as such, there are a few new rules.

First of all, anyone who wishes to use the library must first offer new knowledge to add to the collection.

Secondly, none of the material within can be used for malicious intent. There is no exception to this. I do not care how noble your cause may be, whether it is against each other or our captors here.

Finally, I will no longer allow any materials to be removed from the building.

If these rules are not followed, there will be consequences.

Also, in regards to the last rule, all outstanding books and media must be returned for inventory. If you do not comply, I will send my assistants to retrieve them.

That is all.

No, it's entirely not.

[Not that time was ever really an issue.]

And that is quite impressive. I certainly didn't leave short stories in those books, though hardly all the details of my life. Yet that puts me at a disadvantage, as I know nothing beyond your name. What should I know of you?

[Aang actually missed the memo. So that afternoon, he casually strolls into the library, ready to check out some books. He casually waves to the giant owl spirit when he sees him.]

Hi Wan Shi Tong!

[...And then, almost immediately, he stops and does a double take.]

Wan Shi Tong?!

And yet very few here seem very happy with your self-imposed rules on a library you don't own. If you were the one to collect this knowledge and publish the books, you could do what you wished with them, but they do not belong to you anymore than they belong to anyone else here.

As evidenced by your wholehearted dismissal of the one of the few people in this enclosure actively still working to return us to our proper worlds! Hmph!

[She's not exactly the type of person to argue with a huge talking owl, but she's started actually making use of the library and this could be something of a problem.]

Um...Isn't that like, a little unfair, though? I mean for some people, everything they know is probably already in some kind of book in the library. [Some people like her for example.] It's like, kind of hard to offer new information when you don't have any.

Keeping up with centuries worth if information requires me to be a fast reader.

Hm, you are correct. I am from the world of the Avatar, you probably know him. I have my own library that I have kept for centuries, originally built for the betterment of the human race. It did not go as planned.

The arrogance of humans never ceases to astound me.

I do not expect you to understand nor agree, but I am doing what I feel is in the best interest of everyone. If you cannot accept this then there is no further need for this discussion.

There is a book here on the spirits of my world. However, I have no need to prove anything to you. You can either believe or not. It does not concern me either way.

[Aang has certainly not escaped his notice and soon enough there is a wall of black standing before him and a pair if glaring eyes looking down at him.]

And what business would the Avatar have here?

[There may be just the slightest hint of bitterness in his voice.]

You mean to tell me you know nothing beyond what is kept in this library?

[Excuse him if he finds this a little hard to believe.]

At least outside of the castle, it's supposed ta be. But...

[He can't help but smile again.]

... Ta be honest, it's kind of a relief.

Oh? And why is that?

I can understand why it's a secret... Sometimes knowledge does fall into bad hands. And it did. But at the same time... I met some real great friends in those other worlds, and if I didn't know those worlds existed, I wouldn't have been able ta help 'em out. I think in the long run of things, everyone should know about the other worlds. That way we can all help each other, and make really powerful bonds.

I see. However, my intent is not to forbid knowledge. I merely wish that is not used to harm others, and keeping it in the library would help assure that. There is a great deal of information here that can be used for destructive purposes. Allowing all to take freely poses a risk to everyone, or hoarding that knowledge as a means to their own end. Not regulating this would invite chaos.

Apparently not since you don't wish to listen to the actual interests of "everyone."

Talking animal or no, I've met children more amicable than you!

[He takes out a few little treats from a bag and places them in his hand as he watches amused at the exchange]

I could say the same of you.

[After all it is beneath him to hurl insults and baseless accusations. Indeed humans never change.]

[Mr. Knowledge Seeker happily gobbles them up.]

Well, this isn't going quite as I thought it would, Mr. Fox.

[He expected things to go a bit more exciting, how unfortunate]

Or at least show them we're a force to be reckoned with! [She could care less which way it went, so long as everyone in Luceti doesn't end up permanently dead because of them.]

Noble? Never. [She scoffs at the very idea.] I don't fight for a noble cause, I fight for the freedom to live without having to worry about a large group of people wanting everyone's head on a pike! [Just like back in her own world.]

I'm familiar with both of them, I'd call them friends.

[But he already knew that. And given the spirits seeming dislike of violence, and her own knowledge of humanity in general...]

I take it that the library was abused, thus the reason for your second rule?

You have no authority in this place.

Indeed. Wars have been waged by the misuse of knowledge.

And by the lack of knowledge, as well.

[A gentle reminder that ignorance was as much at the root of conflict.]
